For a product catalog, cost per usable approved image matters more than cost per generation. An attractive output can still be unusable if it changes the packaging, label or product geometry. Build the budget around deliverables and a clear acceptance check.

The example uses 50 products with four final images each: 200 deliverables. Four images might mean a clean hero shot, a detail view and two contextual scenes. Decide what each variant must show before treating all four as interchangeable generations.
At 1.25 attempts, the model allocates five generations per product, or 250 in total. That allowance is a planning assumption. Complex packaging, readable labels and difficult materials may require a different rate of revision. Enter the attempt factor that matches your pilot batch.
Protect product accuracy during review
Use your real product assets as the ground truth. Check the shape, material, dimensions, logo placement, color and included accessories. Compare the output with the item a customer would receive, not just with your aesthetic brief.
This catalog is a cost comparison for image generation; it does not certify SKU fidelity or suitability for a particular marketplace. If faithful reproduction is non-negotiable, validate the provider workflow with your own products before relying on the estimate. Manual compositing or conventional photography may still be needed.
Understand API usage versus cash purchases
A per-image price gives the metered usage. Your required payment may be higher if the provider requires a minimum credit purchase. Existing credit can cover some or all of that usage without a new payment, but only at the provider where the credit is held.
For Black Forest Labs, the calculator does not invent an unverified minimum purchase. Enter the amount shown in your account or enough existing BFL credit to cover the job. Without either, those options are excluded. A Runway balance cannot pay a BFL bill.
Plan a small catalog pilot
Choose a few representative products before processing every SKU. Include an easy item and the most difficult packaging or surface in your catalog. Define the four requested views, generate samples and measure how many pass your review.
Use those results to update the attempt factor and decide whether some views should stay photographic. The calculator excludes retouching labor, background cleanup, color management, licensing and upload preparation. Those steps can dominate the true production budget even when generation is inexpensive.

Is this a replacement for a product photographer’s quote?
No. It estimates generation software only. Photography, styling, accuracy checks and retouching require their own budget.
Why are BFL options sometimes missing?
Their purchase minimum is not verified in this catalog. Supply your account’s minimum or sufficient BFL balance to make the cash estimate possible.
Can I budget several images per SKU?
Yes. Monthly products controls the SKU count, and images per output controls the final variants for each product.
