Mistral Vibe (Formerly Le Chat) 2026: What Does It Really Cost?

Mistral's assistant formerly called Le Chat is now Vibe, with Work, Code and Chat modes. The Free plan costs $0; Pro is $14.99/month before tax; Team is $24.99 per user/month plus a $50 monthly workspace fee. The plans include different usage limits and API credits. Importantly, Mistral says plan usage is shared across Vibe, Studio and API, so API activity can consume the same monthly allowance before any pay-as-you-go overage. (Mistral pricing; Le Chat is now Vibe; subscription billing docs)

If you need an exact monthly ceiling, inspect the allowance and pay-as-you-go settings in the account's subscription page. Mistral's public pricing page exposes different API-credit figures in separate plan content, so this guide does not treat one figure as a universal allowance. The fixed subscription price and the usage rule are clearer than a one-size-fits-all credit estimate.

Consumer and team plans

PlanPublished priceWhat the price buys
Free$0Limited Vibe, Studio and coding access; $10/month API credits are shown on Mistral's pricing page
Pro$14.99/monthHigher usage, Vibe Code access and support; student offer $5.99/month when eligible
Team$24.99/user/month + $50/month workspace feeTeam workspace, administration and up to 30 GB storage per user
EnterpriseCustomPrivate deployments and enterprise controls

Prices exclude applicable taxes. Paid plans are subject to fair-use limits; they are not a promise of unlimited usage. The Team base fee matters for small groups: five seats cost 5 × $24.99 + $50 = $174.95/month, before tax.

API rates

For metered API use, Mistral's current rate card lists these selected text-model rates per million tokens:

ModelInputOutput
Mistral Small 4$0.15$0.60
Mistral Large 3$0.50$1.50
Mistral Medium 3.5$1.50$7.50
Codestral$0.30$0.90

Input and output are charged separately. Batch processing can reduce eligible model rates by 50%; cached input can receive a discount of up to 90%, subject to the model and request. Regional inference and non-token tools may have separate prices. Check the current Mistral API pricing page for the selected model and service before estimating production spend.

Example API bills

The formula is input tokens ÷ 1,000,000 × input rate + output tokens ÷ 1,000,000 × output rate.

One million input plus 250,000 output tokens on Large 3:

1 × $0.50 + 0.25 × $1.50 = $0.875

Ten million input plus three million output tokens on Medium 3.5:

10 × $1.50 + 3 × $7.50 = $37.50

Fifty thousand small requests, each 500 input and 300 output tokens on Small 4:

50,000 × (500 × $0.15 + 300 × $0.60) ÷ 1,000,000 = $13.13

These estimates exclude tools, retries, taxes and any plan allowance. A request that uses web search, OCR, or another billable capability can cost more than the token calculation alone.

Subscription or API?

For a person using Vibe's interface, the monthly plan buys access to the product and a higher usage allowance; it is not directly comparable to a raw API token bill. For software that sends predictable batches, model-level API pricing makes cost per request explicit. An organization using both should track both surfaces because Mistral's documentation says included monthly usage is shared across Vibe, Studio and API. Once that allowance is exhausted, the organization can either stop at the limit or enable pay-as-you-go according to its account settings.

Do not assume every Pro account has an unlimited API wallet. Review the subscription page for included monthly usage, current consumption, pay-as-you-go status, and the organization's spending limit. Administrators can set an API/Vibe monthly spending limit; reaching it can suspend access until the limit is raised or the billing period resets. (Mistral subscription docs; billing controls)

Which option is cheaper?

At a small modeled workload, raw API cost can be below the $14.99 Pro subscription. But the API calculation covers only tokens; it does not reproduce Vibe's interface, coding tools, connectors, or the included allowance. Pro can be the better purchase for someone who uses those bundled capabilities frequently. Conversely, pay-as-you-go is easier to measure for a product backend where requests and model mix are known.

Team is most defensible when administration, shared workspace controls and collaboration are worth the seat and base charges. For five people, the $174.95 monthly floor is substantially higher than five individual Pro subscriptions at $74.95, so the team features need to justify the difference.
